The Thomas Institute of Health Professions (TIHP) is a state of the art educational facility which encompasses several training centers committed to the advancement of health care professionals.
Nationally, we offer training through online courses, seminars, webinars, and onsite training. It is our mission to provide innovative programs that reflects the needs of our students and the community. We specialize in rising healthcare professionals such as certified radiographers, radiation therapists, and nuclear medicine technologists to the next level in Computed Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Mammography, Ultrasound, Interventional Radiography, and other advance modalities.

**Leader, Educator, Practitioner, and Scholar**
In December 1999, Chalonda graduated with a Bachelor in Radiological Sciences with honors (cum laude). She was employed as a technologist in the Radiology Department at UAB Hospital. Shortly afterwards, she was offered and accepted an interim supervisor position. Additionally, she was appointed to the position of Clinical Instructor for the students in the UAB Radiography Program. In 2003, she held the positions of Academic Clinical Coordinator and Instructor for the UAB Radiography Program and was a liaison between several clinical affiliates and the radiography program. In 2006, she graduates from UOP, earning a Master of Arts in Education/ Curriculum and Instruction with honors (magna cum laude). May 2008, she became MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) certified. In 2009, she became certified in CT (Computed Tomography). In 2009, she also began working as an Assistant Professor and CT/MRI Academic Clinical Director for the UAB’s Nuclear Medicine Program. She developed, taught, and managed all aspects of the online CT and MRI concentrations. She taught B.S. Nuclear Medicine and Radiation Therapist students, certified Radiographers, Nuclear Medicine, and Radiation Therapy Professionals. In 2010, she became the Online Radiography Program Director at Pima Medical Institute. She led over 100 students and 20 faculty per semester. In 2015, she became the CEO/President of The Thomas Institute of Health Professions and has trained hundreds of students each year since.
Professional attributes she has made to her profession includes being: Selected ASRT 2017 Speaker, Vice President of the Birmingham Regional Society and serving as a member on several professional organizations. She is IRB certified and served as an investigator on several research studies for the UAB School of Medicine. She has authored two chapters (Contrast Media and MRI Primer) for the Steve’s Review of Nuclear Medicine Preparation for Certification Examination (4th edition).
Chalonda graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Phoenix in 2006 with a Masters of Arts in Education / Curriculum and Instruction. By 2008 Chalonda earned another Masters Degree, this time in Education. Just one years later, in 2009, she was certified in Computed Tomography. From there she began working as an Assistant Professor and CT/MRI Academic Clinical Coordinator for teh UAB’s Nuclear Medicine Program. She taught and managed all aspects of the CT Concentration online and blended MRI concentration. In 2010 she rose to the position of Program Director for the Advanced Placement Track Radiography Program at Pima Medical Institute Online. In 2015 she started TIHP and has trained hundreds of students each year since.
